FITTin’ in FUN!

Good health is a big priority for me, obviously. However, I also know that we have to allow for fun and leniency in our healthy lifestyles as well. It's all a part of keeping balance and creating that FITT life.This weekend I had the pleasure of heading down to a beer fest downtown. It was super fun!

We went with making it a true adventure and headed downtown on the bus. Then enjoyed all. the. beer.

Thanks for the fun Shelly! Now that I've had a chance to get some "fun" under my belt it's back to keeping my eating clean and drinking LOTS of water. Don't get me wrong, I have fun all the time, but fun that involves drinking/eating unhealthy, those are the fun times I put in few and far between and I'm ok with it because I love the way I feel when I'm on my healthy track. And if I'm being honest I think it makes that type of fun even more fun when it comes around.
So how do I get back on a healthy track? For me it starts from the inside out. Making sure I eat good, clean, whole foods always helps me feel amazing. This week's menu felt simple but smells delicious. I also can't wait to get in the first workout after all that fun. Time to sweat it out!

This week's menu:

Turkey Spinach Meatballs -  I cooked up some spaghetti squash to pair with the meatballs. You can go sauce or no sauce as well. We have some sauce but I'm thinking no sauce will be wonderful. This makes quite a few meatballs but you can always freeze them and have for later.

One Pan Mexican Quinoa - this is a new dish (always love getting in at least one new dish each week), I chopped up some romaine lettuce to use as the bed and then I will throw a bit of this on top.
Oven Fried Chicken - This is the second time I've made this dish...still doesn't look like the picture on the recipe but tastes good enough sooooo.....
Ground Beef & Cabbage Stir Fry Wontons - this is actually a leftover dish from a week or two ago. I made the beef & cabbage stir fry. We had plenty leftover so I froze it. I was going to make egg rolls with it but home came wonton squares so wontons it will be.
Roasted Veggies - I mean look at those! They are beautiful and taste amazing. Versatile too. Some of the many reasons they make repeated appearances week after week in our food prep.

Raw Veggies - prepped by cutting and ready for grabbing and snacking
Fruit - Moon Drop Grapes more specifically. I've never had these nor had I ever seen them before. They kind of freak me out but I'm giving them a shot.

Seriously look at those "grapes"! Am I the only one that's never seen these before?

I highly encourage you to go out, have fun but don't let one night/day/meal of fun ruin your progress towards the goals you have set for yourself. It's not a set back, it's a set up to rocket you back to your healthy ways. 🙂
